Meet The Team: Stefan Soumprou, Research Manager.

Introducing Stefan Soumprou, our Research Manager based in Melbourne.

Stefan started his career in a sales coordinator position but soon found his true passion in research. He is a key resource within our team thanks to his strong drive for personal and professional growth, eagerness to gain more experience and knowledge, and ability to collaborate with both teams nationally and within NZ.

Fun fact - Stefan is also a die-hard Essendon supporter and brings the same level of dedication to his work as he does to support his team.

Curious to learn more about Stefan? Keep reading.

Alright, spill the tea: How did you find yourself in the advertising industry, and what’s been the best part of your journey at VMO so far?

Much like everyone seemingly that finds their way into advertising, I fell into it out of sheer luck – I had a family link to one of the reps at VMO (shoutout to Biggo) and started as a coordinator back at the end of 2020. The best part of the journey so far would have to be the growth I’ve seen in both myself and the company in such a short time, and being able to meet and work with so many great personalities and minds.

Your ideal work lunch: cooking up a five-course meal in the office microwave or embarking on a quest to find the best sanga in town?

Anyone in the Melbourne office will tell you that you can’t go wrong with a La Manna chicken wrap and chips.

If your career were a movie, which three movie titles would best capture its essence, and why did you choose them?

  1. Limitless - We’re always utilising 100% of our brain to answer the hard-hitting questions.

  2. Rocky - Working and progressing up the media research ladder.

  3. Shrek 2 - The sequel (my return to VMO) is better than the original.

If your professional growth had a fragrance, would it be a bold, invigorating scent like fresh coffee beans, a calming aroma like lavender, or something completely unexpected? Justify your choice.

A nice Shiraz since I’m only getting more experienced and knowledgeable. Like a wine, we’re both getting better with age.

Summarise your typical workday using three emojis, and give us the inside scoop on what each one represents.

Cup of coffee - I always have to start the day off with a brew from the local Amsterdam Café.

Smiley glasses face - Me getting through the sales requests and analysing different data sets.

Fly - I’m always getting the steps up and buzzing around the office.

If your Team's background had a mind of its own, what whimsical scene or surreal landscape would it choose during your next virtual meeting?

The Essendon team rooms after they win the grand final (I won’t hold my breath).
