Meet The Team: Alec Mowat, VMO’s Powerhouse Account Manager.

Since Alec begun his journey at VMO, he has proven himself to be an absolute asset and star within the business. Through his determination, drive, and dedication to his team and clients, Alec has proven himself to be invaluable.

Tell us about your journey in the industry and at VMO.

I’ve always prided myself on loyalty, so conveniently, my journey through the industry starts and continues with VMO. I was accepted for a part time role in VMO’s NSW Direct team while I was in my final year at Uni, balancing three days work with two days of Uni. My third day at VMO was our annual conference up at the Gold Coast and needless to say, that’s when I realised I was in the right place... Five years later I look back at an adventure that has simultaneously felt like a lifetime and quicker than the blink of an eye.

What are the three things you love most about working at VMO?

The challenge of the work, the opportunities for growth and development, and most importantly – the people & culture around me. I’ve made lifelong friends at VMO, and that feels like a pretty special thing to be able to say.

What do you do or where do you go to rejuvenate and re-energise?

It really depends on the day. On one hand I love to be in nature, on a hike or at the beach, and on the other, I love to be a hermit crab at home watching a show or playing PlayStation with our puppies in lap!

What’s your favourite way to spend your weekend?

Some weekends, I like to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of media life with a trip away to some beautiful scenic location, and other times I like to have a weekend in and won’t leave the couch for 48 hours straight…

What are 5 words your friends would use to describe you?

Loving, authentic, adventurous, quirky and nerdy. But you wouldn’t hear those until after I’ve been roasted…
